Furthermore, if this release date is to be believed, that leaves 2 - 2.5 years without a single GW campaign. Seems like quite a gap.
Re-read the article and get your dates straight: there is going to be a really busy 18 months or so.
As for the dates being vague, that's not suprising at all, thing's we'll be ready when they are, they may be shooting for release dates, but that doesn't mean they hit them.

At the same time, GW has a market to keep up. If they don't do this feature what in the name of heck is gonna grab present and/or past players attention to purchase this game over anything else?

I'm guessing it is most likely true.

The fact that the reporter referred to "multi-level dungeons" (when they're called missions) and called 150 skills "massive" (when it is a smallish number) suggests that he isn't a GW fan who is making stuff up. It sounds like a reporter who isn't uber-familiar with GW who is passing information along from his source. The numbers sound plausible - 40 armors, 10 heroes, 18 dungeons/missions - all are very close to what I'd expect.

Believable info + imperfect reporting = probably not a scam, IMO. I don't think we can take it as gospel, the source may not have known everything, and Anet may change their mind about some details, but I don't think it is a complete fabrication.

I do really hope the part about GW ending soon is wrong.

I think this is fake.

It's too specific, too early.

How can they precisley say that there is exactly 10 new heros and 40 new armor sets?

It's made up. Publicity stunt imo.

Well, what might be happening is Gaile is sitting in a board room going "ok guys some idiot on the net got all the details wrong and the community is bleeding from the eyes because of it. So, what can I say to distill some of the trash floating about? Also, bunny slippers are cute."

What I'm wondering is if all of this is true, what these new details will do to STARNEWS23.

[edit] though I must say... 18 new dungeons (I'm assuming he means dungeon like elite missions and DoA), 10 heroes (one per profession?) and 40 new armor sets (roughly one every 4 dungeons, 4 per profession...)? Rock the **** on. If that's what I get to play until GW2 gets delayed and comes out summer 2010, then I'll be happy.

Makes one wonder... what MMORPGs out there have 'multi-level dungeons', limited knowledge of GW and would like to think they'd benefit from rattling the confidence of the GW community?

There was a comment about the level cap being set, but no information on what it was... that goes so rediculously far away from the GW Level 20 thing that it not only has to be a fake, but also a fake from someone that has biases towards a different game.

Conspiracy Theory time people!

Who would really gain from this?

Just wait I guess,

Even though Gaile read the thread like this, she still have to go to check it with Anet and Ncsoft guys.

*Stares at the Inquirer's Banner*

'News, Reviews Facts and Friction'

HINT HINT?

I highly doubt this. The information is very detailed for this early stage.

Still nothing from Gaile yet? Man this morning at 1am people were freaking out. It seems calm now, but I still think this is all BS. If it isnt BS, lets pray to Heysoos that GW1 chars can transfer over...

The real question is: If this does have a grain of truth (which I doubt) will PCGamer sue for breach of contract for thier "exclusive" break.

And moreso: How many people and who will be getting the axe for breach of thier Non-Disclosure Agreement.

What do you mean detailed. The thing is being launched in Q32007 and thats just about 6 monts away which IMO is not that far away. At this point in time they will be putting everything together and setting up stuff on servers etc.
However what's piqued my interest is what does the author mean by Multi- Level? I mean in GW we would go into an area and kick the crap out of all that stands in the way or the other way happened and we never went like level to level. Any ideas folks???

Guys, they got reporters at GDC.

Check the site and you will see in the main page:

"Fresh Guild Wars announced
GDC 2007 New add-on and complete new game coming your way"

I'm not sure but would Tomb Of The Primeval Kings coutn as a type of multi level thing? i cant really see 18 of those.....

I'm not going to call BS on any of this. It soudns interesting and i'm all for a Guild Wars 2. I have heard various things now going from an actual register of the domain eyeofthenorth.com and some admin contacting Theo to find out it was a leak........i guess i'll just wait for Gale to crush or confirm this and hope more details follow soon.

And GDC hadn't even started when that article was posted. That just makes it all more doubtful.

Just checked the GDC stuff... they're announcing that NCSoft has announced this.

However... their source is the Inquirer, not NCSoft.

Edit: Nope, sorry, not them... freegamecam.com or something similar. Apologies.

Wow... rumor spread like wildfire, do they not?

I'm cautiously taking in this information.... until A-net releases some information on their official site, or PC Gamer says something, I'm going to remain skeptical.

I would really like some official word on this.

or maybe she is thinking "ok this was intended to be great PC Gamer info and some idiot (who shouldnt) put that info at his website"
